Mat teacher training
Upcoming dates:
Mat I: 12th of April 2025 (finishing the Mat Level I is required before starting any equipment levels)
Mat Teacher Training Program consists of 3 training sessions:
1 session = 1 lectures and training day
session I – Intro level, I – Beginner and II – Beginner/ Intermediate (8h)
session II – Level III – Intermediate and IV – Intermediate/ Advanced (8h)
session III – Level IV – Intermediate/ Advanced and Level V – Advanced (8h)
During the 3 sessions of in Studio Lectures and trainings in the course of the Mat Teacher Training Program students will learn:
- History and principles of the Pilates method
- The repertoire of the 34 Classical Mat excercises
- Modifications and contraindications for various special need clients (eg senior or pregnant clients)
- excercise progression, teaching methodology and pedagogy, training planning
- Basics of Anatomy and kinesiology
- Working ethics
After attending a lecture day of a given session, student will obtain the Certificate of Attendance.

In order to obtain the Level Completion Certificate, and the full Mat Teacher Training Program, in addition to attending the lecture days, the student is required to complete observations, individual lessons and group classes, self practice, teaching and examinations.
- Observation hours (student observes lessons taught by an experienced teacher) (6 hours/stage)
- Teaching hours (lessons conducted with the client, described for the instructor's review, and lessons conducted in the presence of an experienced teacher) (5 hours/stage)

Individual lessons (6 hours/stage) and group classes
(6 hours/stage) - Self-practice (own exercises on mat or equipment, described in writing for the teacher's review) (8 hours/stage)
- Additional observations (10 hours/stage) internet, books, films – with reflections documented for the instructor's review
- Exams:Teaching exam, self-practice exam, theory exam (2 hours/stage)

additional information:
- A detailed program and the requirements for passing each module shall be sent to an interested party by e-mail.
- The course is conducted by a NPCP certified teacher. Completion of the full Mat training course (3 levels) is over 100 hours of education in total and entitles you to sit the NPCP (formerly PMA) Mat international exam. The exam is conducted in English.
